HP customer services - important guidelines for a proper installation of downloads
Reboot the devices
Before you begin the troubleshooting process, restart the
printer, router and the PC. Retry connecting to the printer once again.
- Plug out the power cord from the printer while it is still on
- Then restart the printer using the POWER button on the front panel
- Similarly, plug out the power cord from the router and reconnect it
- If necessary, you can also use the reset button found on your router
- Close all running apps on your computer and restart the device
- Now, try installing the HP printer driver
- Move on to the next step if you are still unable to find the printer
Find out what the network status is
- For instance, check the Ethernet cable connection for a wired connection
- Additionally, you may also have to check the Ethernet ports on the router and your printer
- Similarly, check the wireless network settings if it is a Wi Fi connection
- To do this, go to the settings menu on your printer and check the signal strength
- The network status can also be deciphered using the INDICATION lights on your printer
- A steady light indicates a strong connection whereas a blinking light indicates a weak connection
Other remedial steps for your printer
- Avoid connecting the printer to public networks such as hotels or schools
- Do not use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) when installing a driver
